AFTERCARE AND REINTEGRATION

In addition to the regular inpatient and outpatient program, clients currently in program and clients who have completed treatment have the benefit of attending aftercare sessions which are held three times a week and are an hour long. The aftercare sessions are comprised of relapse prevention sessions, client support groups, relapse intervention initiatives, coping mechanisms and life skills pertaining to living a practical and sober lifestyle. If a client were to suffer a lapse or relapse and it is picked up in an aftercare session, such a client would either receive relapse intervention as outlined in the Matrix model or be referred back into program.

Another core component of our philosophy at Agape Family Life Centre is our emphasis on the social reintegration of a client. When one scrutinizes drug use, one can ultimately conclude that it is a social ill that tends to exert an impact on all relevant social sectors. The primary social sphere that is perhaps the most affected would be the family unit. When an individual abuses illicit substances in a household a number of social conformities and functions are impeded.
